Hi!  My name is Deanna Gibson.  I am mom to 5 year old Alex, 2.5 year old Elijah and a new baby expected late summer 2010.  I know first hand the stress, struggles and joys of new parenthood. 

I fell in love with babywearing shortly after having my first son, Alex.  He needed to be held all the time and while I loved holding my baby, I needed to have my hands free - at least some of the time.  I used to struggle with an uncomfortable carrier that strained my back carrying my newborn! When Alex was six weeks old I decided to try a wrap and I fell in love immediately. He was so content to be cuddled tightly next to me in his wrap.  He rarely cried and nearly always fell asleep once he was in it. As he grew older I turned him out to face the world and he was so excited to explore new places while enjoying the safety and comfort of his mother. The wrap was a hit with Daddy too.  As a result, we both fell in love with babywearing and are thrilled to be wearing both of our sons today.  This began our deep love of babywearing and The Baby Sling Shop was born.  We hope that you fall in love with babywearing just as much as we have.
